There are artists that are "at the right place at the right time" and artists that capture planned moments. When disected, one can see how Hine carefully produced The Powerhouse Mechanic. There really is a visual difference between that work and all of the other photos. In the Powerhouse Mechanic, the man clearly seems to be in control of the machine.
